Frequently Asked Questions

Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any other questions!

What does IBCLC mean?

IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. This credential represents advanced clinical training in lactation and breastfeeding support.

What makes your approach different?

As a Registered Nurse with a background in public health, I approach lactation care through both a clinical and relational lens. I believe feeding support should be evidence-based, individualized, and sustainable for families.

Do you work with prenatal clients?

Yes, prenatal consultations are available for families who want to feel prepared before baby arrives.

How do I know if membership is right for me?

Membership is ideal for families who want consistent support as their baby grows and feeding needs evolve. If you anticipate ongoing questions, return-to-work transitions, supply adjustments, or simply value reassurance along the way, membership offers steady guidance rather than isolated visits. If you prefer a focused session for a specific concern, a one-time consultation may be a better fit.

When should I reach out for support?

You do not need to wait until something feels urgent. Early support often prevents small concerns from becoming more stressful. Whether you are preparing prenatally or navigating a new challenge, reaching out sooner rather than later can provide clarity and reassurance. This reduces the “I’ll wait and see” hesitation.

What are your response times for messaging?

Membership messaging is available during daytime hours. Responses are typically provided within 24 hours. Messaging does not replace urgent medical care. For immediate concerns, please contact your pediatric provider.

Do you offer in-home visits?

Yes, comprehensive in-home visits are available for families within the service area. Travel range and availability may vary.

Do you provide weighted feeds?

Yes, weighted feeds are included during in-home assessments when clinically appropriate.

Do you support pumping and bottle feeding?

Absolutely. Support includes direct breastfeeding, pumping plans, bottle transitions, combination feeding, and return-to-work planning.
